Process Engineering (Double Degree)
Nice uni, MPE itself not as good as expected
Well, the atmosphere of the Uni is quite small but good and friendly. The international office and course coordinator are very supportive people.
The support for accommodation helps international students settle way better than other Unis in Germany, BUT the course of MPE itself is not as good as expected from my side. We used to have lectures the whole week (even Saturdays) which for a master's student is too much I think (it is more like a high school).
Some of the professors are quite knowledgeable and their course are well-structured, but some of them have language barrier (English proficiency) it makes their lecture somehow useless. Many elective and irrelevant courses are put in the curriculum , which could be exchanged with courses mainly related to Process Engineering.
All in all, I think only in the field of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Engineering there are possibilities to develop your knowledge even a bit during getting your master's degree (if you have some background in those field) but in other fields related to process engineering like Transfer Phenomena, Thermodynamics, and renewable energies like Solar and Wind the course is not good at all, and you don't have any option as a process engineer to choose for your speciality.
The other issue is the semester in Poland, where the courses are totally irrelevant to Process Engineering and it is like one semester wasting time and moving to another country. Also, the diverse range of students coming from different fields make it impossible for lecturers to go into details in some subjects. maybe the accepted students must be more from related courses to have a same background for master's degree.
